Sulfur Baths
While walking through Old Tbilisi you will probably notice the multiple domes in the middle of the area. Inside those domes are Tbilisi's sulfur baths that, believe it or not, is the whole reason Tbilisi was built according to legend. The legend goes that Georgia's king at the time, Vakhtang Gorgasali, was hunting in the woods when he shot down a bird. When he went to go get the bird he found it in the suflur hot springs completely cooked. From there he decided to create a new capital around the hot springs and to call it "Tbilisi". In fact, the Georgian word for warm is თბილი (tbili) so Tbilisi is the English equivalent of calling a city "Warmy". Now, if you don't feel like going into the hot springs, that's fine, but it's still a cool thing to just walk by and take pictures of while strolling through the rest of Old Tbilisi, and if you walk along the edge of the sulfur baths down a path you get led to a little water fall in the middle of Tbilisi that tends to be overlooked by tourists, but that's a secret for you to discover for yourself ;).
