Tbilisi History Museum
Tbilisi has always been the most cosmopolitan city of Georgia ever since its "late" creation. If you're interested in the history of how Tbilisi's high society lived, or the traditional dress and weapons found and used in Tbilisi in its even earlier days, this is a great museum to check out. It's conveniently located on 8 Sioni St in Old Tbilisi and has three floors. The first floor is dedicated to shops for tourists and for local artists to display their works. The second floor has a permanent exhibit that displays Tbilisi throughout the years and has lots of cool artifacts and pictures to check out. The third floor is the temporary exhibits that last for a couple months and can range from a variety of topics. When I visited it happened to be a modern design exhibit from a German artist. In addition, the third floor is where you can look for an English speaking guide, but if you have difficulty locating the office, the easiest thing to do is ask around for an English guide and the museum staff will be more than happy to help you out. Admission is right in the entrance and the tickets are cheap, and if you're a student at college or school it only costs you one lari for admission. The museum itself is kind of old, but the creaky wood floor and doors add to the museum's charm in my opinion.
